“Thy Womb”

“Life is what we make it”--- this is one of the most famous quotations that we often heard and many of us believes with this. That what kind of life we have depends on how we work hard for it. A better kind of living depends on our hands. What life seems to be without trials, sorrows, pain and even without happiness? All of us experience different trials in life especially when it comes to love. Many of us will do anything for our love ones even it is really hard for us. We will go throughout the pain and will find the key just to make our love ones happy and satisfied. Everyone of us dreams of a perfect wedding and having a child. The movie entitled “Thy Womb” revolves in this situation. It is an indie film and an official entry to December 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival. It was a kind of movie that showed the people the different aspects and views about life.

Every people in every part of the world have their own cultures, traditions and way of living. The movie showed the different cultures and traditions and how the people of Tawi-Tawi live. It was not the first indie film I watched, but this is a kind of movie that is really different from the other movie because through this movie, you will be informed about the place, the natural resources there, customs and traditions, livelihood and the different aspects of life that maybe we are blind to see those things, deaf to hear the cry of those people and maybe we also fail to feel them as part of our nation. It is indeed a great movie that they presented the natural setting on how the people there interact with the environment that the poverty and violence is so apparent with the place but still the government are not doing anything about it.
