Introduction

In this module we have been asked to explore what different employers in different sectors want from an employee. As the market is so competitive employees have to make sure that they have something in their experience, in their education in order to stand afar from the competition. As a group we all attended the regular meetings, we together decided to split the task up and we wanted to find out the relevant information needed to be able to gain an understanding on what is needed in the market to acquire a new job. As a group we have taken two contrasting employers, Bromford Industries and NHS Finance, and tried to find out what is required to be a part of their Company. Both companies have got a rich history and have settled very well in their markets.

The first company chosen was Bromford Industries. This is a privately owned enterprise, and it is a manufacturer of specific components, these are spread over 3 different markets, these are aero engines, Landing gear and industrial gas turbines (Refer to Appendix 1). This company has over 100,000 sq ft of floor space in which they assemble and manufacture specialist parts. As it is privately owned many of the machinery had to be bought, and this has been proven by it being equipped with over 190 high quality machine tools which help in the expert processes needed. They also have the latest computer technology with specific programs such as CNC Program, CMM Program and CAD Model to help them visualise the final product. Bromford Industries deliver cost effective, components for the military and assigning experts who can get the job done properly (Refer to Appendix 2). There are many large facilities that are based in large cities such as Birmingham, Coventry and Leicester, this reason is for easy access for bulk travelling.
