Answer: Ricky Martin was the person that sung and the reaction was very positive, and they loved the performance.

2. When did Latin music burst back on the scene? What song brought it back to the mainstream? What effect did it have?

Answer: sometime in the 80s about 15 years before Ricky Martin sung the song Conga made Latin music popular for all the upcoming decades.

3. How did the sounds of salsa change?

Answer: They toned it down lyric wise and musically so younger people could understand it. Basically it was leaning towards the pop culture.

4. What was the influence of CBS’ Latin division on the explosion of Latin music in the US?

Answer: CBS turned down many songs and ideas. That fact drove those artists to push against what they had been told. On the other hand, CBS helped the artists gain fame through their work by providing a large label for many artists to be signed to.

Answer: Emilio Estefan, Jenifer Lopez, Shakira, Ricky Martin, La India, Enrique Iglesias, and Gloria Estefan were a few of the individuals who aided the Latin pop revolution that began in the mid-eighties.

Answer: Miami stopped producing the amount of music it had been producing for the past couple of years. Latin pop artists became too big for their own good thus creating a split from Latin music to English music slightly influenced by Latin rhythms and other musical qualities.

Answer: Reggaeton is basically a mixture of Jamaican reggae and Puerto Rican rhymes and the lyrics are hip hop but in Spanish. Even though its leaning towards hip hop it’s based on stuff from Puerto Rico like drugs sex and women and Etc.
