Hilton Worldwide one of the world’s finest hotel and resort organizations recently hired Nik. Hiltons are well known for finest in accommodations, service, amenities, and value. Kava is a beautiful island in the South Pacific with opportunities of a preliminary consideration for a development of a new Hilton Worldwide resort. Development of a new resort on the Kava Island will further establish Hilton’s mission of “We will be the preeminent global hospitality company – the first choice of guest, team members and owners alike.” (Hilton Worldwide, 2010, Page 1) . Hilton’s mission of “ To fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality” will certainly fulfilled with the exotic ethnic mix of the indigenous South Pacific tribes, Asian, Spanish, African, French, and Americans on the island. Nik’s first assignment required him to complete a business study on the island of Kava in the South Pacific. The purpose of the study was to identify potential risk and key problems associated with the development of a Hilton Worldwide Resort on Kava. Alex, Hilton’s director of strategic planning, assisted Nik in the development of stakeholder analysis and objectives. Nik and Alex outlined the company mission statement to focus on Hilton Worldwide goals and establish a presence in Kava. Nik and Alex use the cost-benefit analysis approach to justify the development of a new Kava resort. Nik and Alex have decided to use a cost-benefit analysis to look at the entire process Hilton Worldwide presence in Kava. A cost-benefit analysis is the total value of the benefits and minus the totals costs of the change. The cost-benefit analysis is an effective tool for justifying project expenditures.
