This detached garage project will be for a family that lives in a ranch style home with limited attic space and no basement. The family is in need of a place to park their two cars and they are looking for more storage space. The family purchased the home on a budget and was unable to afford a home with a garage. The benefits of adding a two car garage would be that the garage would allow both cars to be parked out of the weather, and give more storage space for the ever growing family. The garage will also give an area for small projects or a workshop area.

Project Stakeholders

The stakeholders of this project would be the single-family homeowners and their children. The two-car garage project will be a good investment for the entire family. The garage can be used by the family for storage, workshop space, and parking space. After the completion of the project, the project will increase the value of the property. If a bank is used to finance the project, then the bank will also be a stakeholder in the project.

Project Objectives

This project will be to build a detached garage that will accommodate two cars and have additional space for storage. The garage will be 30 feet by 25 feet and will have two separate overhead garage doors that will be eight feet wide and one standard exterior door. The garage will also have three windows that will be placed on the three walls that do not contain the overhead door. This garage will also have electricity for lighting and power outlets placed to meet local codes. The garage will have two garage door openers, one for each overhead door. An electric heater will provide heating for the garage. The budget for this project is set at $25,000 and the timeline for the completion of the project is set at 21 days.
