Efficiency and Savings through Supply Chain Management

In this tough economic environment we face today, many companies are seeking to improve the visibility of their product as well as cut costs at the same time. It is the opinion of many, including my own, that the best way to approach such a challenge is to look primarily at the supply chain management in a company’s operations. A successful business strategy is one that takes management of the supply chain in deep consideration. For defining markets, products, and customers will be much easier will a more efficient supply chain. One company that shares this belief is Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, Inc (ENRGI), which reached an agreement with ArrowStream, a popular dealer of supply chain solutions for businesses in the food industry.

Known for its ability to “drive significant cost savings and improve the bottom line”, ArrowStream is intended to help ENRGI achieve its goal of being more efficient when competing in the industry and still keeping costs down to a minimum. Scott Harvey, SVP Manufacturing and Supply Chain of Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, Inc, is quoted as saying, “Our goal is to reduce category spend, control price variance, suffer fewer stock outs and rely less on inefficient manual processes, which will help us better control costs and implement improvements."ArrowStream will certainly be able to help ENRGI gain the insight needed to make the necessary changes in supply chain management that will allow them to lower costs and improve efficiency.

The program will also allow ENRGI to have an overall smoother Supply chain process, as it will be easier to produce products, deliver them to customers and establish a solid relationship with the customers.

In addition, Internal and External failure costs will be limited as the program will spot any defects before delivery of a product to the customer. Inventory will also be better manageable through use of the program...
