I. Introduction

a. The purpose of this letter is to be able to hold a town meeting and let the people know what is happening. “An informed citizen is the only true repository of the American will.” Thomas Jefferson (Official Website of Erin Brockovich, 2010)

b. Unsafe chemical disposed is causing most of the people in the community to become ill.

c. I conducted research from the local community doctor.

II. Due to unsafe chemical disposal the town’s water supply has been contaminated with chromium 6.

d. Causes health effects to the public. I.e. cancer, cramps, or paralysis and may also damage the respirational tract.

e. Upon termination chromium acid is formed, which decomposes the organs.

f. Wastewater is being flushed into our water every day.

III. Investigating the problem

g. The company has been practicing unsafe disposal for twenty plus years.

h. Keeping it a secret from the community.

i. How could this have happened?

IV. The conclusion of our letter is to better prepare people of harmful things going on in our local community.

j. Through town meetings and research, the local community has been educated on the situation dealing with chemical waste.

k. Through research of the contaminated water the community has spent thousands of dollars purchasing bottle water due to unsafe bio waste.

l. Through further research the town has found that they have been kept in the dark about the disposal chemicals in the water.
