After Choosing Belize in Mission Trip Part A, I narrowed down my trip location to the small town of Punta Gorda, Belize. Planning a trip to Belize will of course have many details to iron out and it must start with budgeting expenses. Some expenses that need to be addressed are passports, transportation to Belize (airfare), lodging, meals, rental car, and gas for the car. In the table below I will calculate these expenses first in United States Dollar and then again in Belize Dollar. The current exchange rate is 1.00 USD equals 2.0095 BZD. (XE Currency Convertor, 2016).

Expenses | Per person:USD | Group Total:USD | BZD | Notes |

Passports | $140 | $1,400 | $2,793 | Passports for 10 group members |

Airfare | $638.01 | $6,380.10 | $12728.30 | 10 round trip flights |

Hotel (5 rooms) | $80.00 (per day) | $400.00 | $798.00 | 5 rooms with 2 group members per room |

Food for 2 people 3 course meals a day | | 2 people: $25.00Group: $3,500(28days) | Group: $6982.50 (28days) | $125.00 feeds all group members per day. |

| | Total:11,680 | Total: 22,503.80 | |

Misc. Expenses | | $1,752 | $3,375.57 | 15% of total expenses |

| | Total:$13,432 | Total: $25,879.37 | |

I have calculated my trip for June 15th through July 13th. And it will include ten group members and we will be in Belize for 4 weeks. The table shows each expense plus misc. expenses in a per person and group total both in USD and BZD.

Although the trip is still five years away, I already have 10% of the money needed for the trip, but in order to helps us get closer to our total amount we need we are going to invest the 10% we already have. My 10% investment will be invested at a 4% APR and will be compounded quarterly over the next 5 years. In the calculations below you can see the 10% ($1343.20) I started with becomes $1638.96.

A=P×1+APRn^nY

A=$1343.201+.0444x5

A= $1638.96...
