First thing, I see here is that Captain Picard had a different relationship with Lt. Commander Data, because of the two of them serving together onboard the Enterprise, so Capt. Picard had become very attached to LCDR Data, and he didn’t view him as an Android. Capt. Picard saw LCDR Data as Physical Property, one who could characterize an ordinary physical object, whether or not the object is thought of as being alive or as being possessed of “ mind,” awareness or consciousness(Hasker, p. 70), he trusted LCDR Data for what he could do and not what he was able to experience in any situation. Whereas, CDR Maddox, who had no dealing with the subject at all, and his sole purpose was to learn more about LCDR Data, by disassembling him, and that was all he wanted and he only saw LCDR Data as a mental property, one who couldn’t be consciousness or awareness about himself (Hasker, p. 70).

The way artificial intelligence was so strong during the Starship Enterprise days, I personally don’t see it reaching us, and even though those series was done in the late 80’s and early 90’s, it show that it is possible, but that is not what earth was created for and no matter how it may come up in a conversation God created and the heaven and the earth and we are to worship him in Spirit and in truth. Android cannot do this, they are only machines.

John 4:24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
