1. Write the draw backs of using file systems to store data and purpose of using Database System?

File processing system is good when there is only limited number of files and data in are very less. As the data and files in the system grow, handling them becomes difficult. Following are the draw backs of using file systems to store data:

* Data redundancy

* Limited user access

* Lack of storage and access standards

* Lack of transaction

* Data isolation

* Security

* Integrity

A database is an organized collection of data. Database is a collection of records stored in a computer in a systematic way, such that a computer program can consult it to answer questions. For better retrieval and sorting, each record is usually organized as a set of data elements (facts)
