On February 1st, 2012 the largest initial public offering (IPO) ever was filed by Facebook, Inc. with a total of five billion dollars. Facebook has decided to “go public” inference to entering the public stock market and opening their stocks to investor. Ultimately this increases the future profits for the social networking enterprise and its investors greatly. However it seems that this small idea of an online college directory has vastly changed into a multi-billion dollar social network regardless of its effect on society. This Facebook network, changes the way people approach their everyday lives, it changes the way students learn in the class room and turns peoples thoughts, photo’s, music taste and so much more into a business aspect to generate billions of dollars. Throughout Mark Zuckerberg’s letter to investors he explains that Facebook is a network created to enhance relationships and communication between people.

Facebook, Inc. is one of the top used websites in the world, and when the number of those users are surveyed the majority of them are enrolled students in college, high school and even at the elementary level. For many of these students Facebook has become an addictive social network. With the advancement of technology in past years, hundreds of devices are accessible by people to interact with others despite their current location. And because of these advances the day-to-day life of many people have changed. It is not only Facebook which helps create these interactions their are other devices such as cell phones, e-mailing, text messaging, but Facebook is a network which practically combines all these aspects into one easy to use website or application on a cell phone or any electronic device able to use internet.
