1. One problem came from the company is new employees receive no orientation and start to work after a minimum amount of on-the-job training. Most of them are also not prepared for unexpected difficulties and still need assistance. The first line supervisor, Joe Gleason was very impatient to treat college students whenever they make any mistakes. In addition, the company has experienced some safety related problem caused by a rash of injuries to its employees. The company president has adopted inappropriate employee to conduct the training on safe material-handling techniques so that unsuccessful safety instruction presentation was given.

2. Most problems of the company were mainly caused by lack of training and selection measures. Employees were barely receiving any job training, which we found that some stages of instructional design process were missing. Although some extent of needs assessment was conducts, which the company helped employees avoid the pressure point by showing them how to perform a job at the beginning, the company didn’t ensure whether employees have really got the knowledge and skills to work. Therefore, employees can’t solve some unexpected difficulties by themselves. Older workers probably are very knowledgeable and especially helpful to new employees, but some of their personality indicates that they were lack of certain kind of training how to train and communicate with subordinates. The president couldn’t find anyone fit for conducting the training on safety issues. That is because the company might have be lack of planning to employ different skills of labor.
