Introduction

Jamaican Pure Cane Sugar Incorporated is located in Kingston, Jamaica; an island located in the West Indies was founded in 2010 by Darico Robinson, Tasheka Williams, Rosalind Thomas and Shenekia Williams. These four graduates from University of Phoenix started this company with the intentions on globalizing their business in other countries in need of raw sugar, at a reasonable price. Jamaica Pure Cane Sugar is a small company, which outsources work to small farmers, to produce raw sugar that is ship to other countries for retailing. Jamaica Pure Cane Sugar Company specializes in turning pure cane sugar into sugar and helping revitalize an economy that thrived in the 90’s. This process was created to sell sugar to distillers that produce liquid made of sugar.

Cultural considerations

The Caribbean region is located in the tropical zone in the western hemisphere. It consists of a little more than 15 countries. From Anguilla to Turks and Caicos, most of these countries are made of warm climate weather, beautiful beaches, and for most of them being a heavy traffic area for tourism. The Caribbean region is important to Americans because the nations has participated in negotiations for a Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) through the Caribbean Regional Negotiating Machinery of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM (USAID, 2005), which confirms the economic situation is improving and most Caribbean countries are becoming closer to being able to trade freely with their neighbors. According to the USAID, the regions gross domestic product grew by 1.5% in 2003 (USAID, 2005).
