5. Social business is a cause-driven business. In a social business, the investors/owners can gradually recoup the money invested, but cannot take any dividend beyond that point. Purpose of the investment is purely to achieve one or more social objectives through the operation of the company, no personal gain is desired by the investors. The company must cover all costs and make profit, at the same time achieve the social objective, such as, healthcare for the poor, housing for the poor, financial services for the poor, nutrition for malnourished children, providing safe drinking water, introducing renewable energy, etc. in a business way (Muhammad Yunus, 2007). Social entrepreneurship is attracting growing amounts of talent, money, and attention. But along with its increasing popularity has come less certainty about what exactly a social entrepreneur is and does. As a result, all sorts of activities are now being called social entrepreneurship. Some say that a more inclusive term is all for the good, but the authors argue that it’s time for a more rigorous definition (Roger L. Martin & Sally Osberg, 2007). There is not much different between the social business and social entrepreneurship. The social business is more like to solving problems. It is not maximizing profit. The company invest all the expenses. Social entrepreneurship is more like working to generate money but surely both of them are non-profit maximizing and gaining money to achieve social goals.
