I. Introduction

The stories of “Rocking Horse Winner” and the “Young Goodman Brown”, both Paul and Mr. Goodman live their lives full of emotion, fantasy and misapprehension.

II. Characterizations-The main characters in each story seem to change the outcome of the story.

A. Young Goodman Brown

1. Brown was seen as a Christian man, but had deep evil tendencies.

2. Brown left his wife of only 3 months, Faith to go pursue his evil deeds

3. The mysterious Traveler

a. He can upon a man that looked similar to himself

c. The traveler was depicted as the Devil
