Bulls Win!

With only one minute left in the fourth and final quarter of the game. It all came down to one final play. Everyone in the United Center didn’t seem to bother sitting down. The tension in the arena was so tense you could cut it with a knife. I paid no attention to my perfectly buttered popcorn or my ice cold soda pop. The bulls were down by two points and something incredible needed to happen.

Everyone including myself glued our attention to the court and players. As the referee blew his whistle, no eyes were blinking. Complete silence made the moment even tenser. The ball was inbounded; everyone took long synchronized deep breath. Every dribble resonated with the heartbeat of every bull’s fan. A bullet pass was made to the star player Derrick Rose. I had a good feeling in my gut about what would happen next. As he dribbled left and pulled up to shoot a three-pointer and final shot, the whole world stopped and watch for the final shot of the game. As it left his hand we all eyes were on the round light-brown spherical ball. The ball seemed to be in the air for a long lasting moment and all of the sudden it dropped from its arc-like direction. The ball hit the backboard. A long pause was felt in the United Center. The ball dropped from the backboard inside the rim and into the net. “Bulls win! Bulls win!” Everyone screamed as the last buzzer echoed throughout the arena. The United Center erupted with cheers and chants.

As I celebrated the amazing win with my friend we hi-fived and managed our way out of the united center. The fans walking out the arena like they each had become millionaires. An unforgettable game was witnessed that Thursday night.
