Homework #3: Evergreen Enhancements

Read the case called “Evergreen Enhancements” in our BUAD 301 Casebook. Note: you are not required to do additional research. You may want to use the “Five Steps to Case Analysis Method” on our Titanium site.

In a one-page document, address the following three steps:

(Step 1 of Case Analysis Method)

Identify a core problem as described in the case.

(Step 2 of Case Analysis Method)

Explain why this is an important issue using evidence from the case and basic logic. Use the “Five Steps to Case Analysis Method” as a format guide. Make sure to include long and/or short terms goals for any potential solution to the problem you have described.

(Step 3 of Case Analysis Method)

Provide two different solutions that will address the problem you have identified and the claim you have set as the goal. Try to develop two very different approaches to solving the problem. For each solution provide at least one pro and one con—try to write these in a conversational style rather than a mechanical “the pro is X; the con is Y.”

Please do not recommend a single solution. The purpose of this homework assignment is to work on the first three steps of case analysis method! Be concise. A few paragraphs may be all you need as long as you use concrete details to do most of the work for you. However, do not just repeat data from the case. Use case data to support your own point of view.

 Requirements:

* Do not write a memo.

* In left or right top margin type your name, class section, and the date.

* Center a title at the top of the page.

* Use additional titles to separate your discussion of each case analysis step.

* Single space the document

* Use one-inch margins and size 11 or 12 font.

* Do not indent; leave a space between paragraphs.

* Use titles throughout the document

* Spell check and proof-read your work carefully.

Length: 1 page maximum.
