Evaluation of food intake

After reviewing phase two of our nutrition project I have been able to compare my intake of calories, carbs, fat protein, fiber, sodium, and sugar. I have been able to distinguish the patterns I have in eating such as what we eat on the weekends compared to what we eat on the week days. Doing this nutrition project has been able to allow me to see what food I need to consume more or less of.

Unfortunately, I missed the part of doing the calories intake for two days and only did one. Going off of this chart for one day. For the entire day I only consumed 1,058 Between breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food that had the most calorie intake was fajitas. They were on tortillas with steak cheese and grilled veggies.

My carbs, sodium and fiber intake for that day were 79g of carbs, 1084 mg of sodium and 8g of fiber. The average carbs that should be 225-325 per day based on a 2500 calorie diet. The amounts of sodium should be 3400 and the amount of fiber is 15g.

My fat, protein and sugar intake for that day was 11g of fat, 35g of protein and 3g of sugar. The average protein intake should be around 46 grams, fats 80, and sugar 25 grams based on a 2500 calorie diet.

After evaluating my eating patterns on the weekends we tend to eat out more get meals while we are on the go compared to during the week where I cook home cooked healthier meals. The week day meals include more veggies fresh meat no friend foods less soda or sugar intake and more. On the weekends we are eating things like McDonalds or pizza out of convenience. We should definitely be consuming less of the junk food. We should be more aware of the bad stuff we are eating out of convenience and make time available to cook healthier meals.
