Introduction

In this paper, team members will carefully analyze the provided data for the Major League Baseball Data Set spreadsheet. The main purpose this paper illustrates is the testing of the salary in relation to the wins, the level of attendance in relation to wins, and a higher batting average that leads to more home runs. The important reason for this research is that this research provides basic data information regarding the wins and the circumstances the particular team was during the specific year.

Description of the Problem

The team decided to research the Baseball states of 2005 to discover if the attendance level had anything to do with the number of wins. To determine if the higher the home game attendance affected the home team’s performance. The states consisted of 30 teams to compare.

The research problem is that important to see if more marketing needs to be done to entice more spectators to come to home games to give the team greater advantage. If the researchers can determine this advantage, they can request more money toward marketing. Some marketing ideas may include radio-sponsored events where people can call to win tickets or provide T-shirts or souvenirs to the first 50 people who come the games. More people will arrive if the state has a winning team and if the state can show that more spectators then it would increase the chances of greater attendance.

Problem Definition

A common belief in sports is that when a team achieves success and increases the number of wins to a level that is greater than the average member of the league is, attendance will increase, as individuals want to be part of the success.
