2. A task is an activity that has a beginning and end and requires the use of company resources. An event is a occurrence of something specific and a milestone is a reference point that marks a major occurrence.

4. The three main task patterns are dependent tasks, multiple successor tasks and multiple predecessor tasks.

* Dependent tasks are those that must be completed one after another.

* Multiple successor tasks are several tasks that can start at the same time.

* A multiple predecessor task is one than cannot be completed until two other tasks are finished.

6. The formula to estimate task duration is (B+4P+W)/6

Best case-100 days

Probable case- 120 days

Worst case- 140

100 + 480 + 140 / 6 = 120 days

8. The critical path is a series of tasks, which if delayed, would affect the completion date. A task would be on the critical path to avoid this.

10. Risk management involves identifying, analyzing, anticipating and monitoring anything that could slow down a project. If you identify the potential risk ahead of time you can avoid the issue.

* Rapid Application Development, a team based technique that speeds up information systems development and produces a functioning information system.

* JAD is more expensive than traditional methods, RAD does not emphasize strategic business needs.

* Team based methods deliver the best possible system with lowest cost and shortest time. This brings users into the design process and gives them a sense of ownership.
