Society on Women

In this era society tends to focus more on women and how they are portrayed in media and never focus on the way men are portrayed. People never really tend to pay attention to men because everyone is so used too knowing that men are supposed to be manly and so on. In media all you see is men being strong having nice bodies, you see the way men treat women just so they could be seen as tough or how men use violence to determine their manliness. And we all see those things and don’t pay attention because we are so use to seeing that type of situation when in reality that shouldn’t be the case. The way masculinity is portrayed in media is upsetting, and you might think why no one has done anything to stop that, well because we see it as something normal. In many aspects it is wrong. And this can affect the future generation because young boys watch the media and what they see they will learn. Parents may teach young boys to act a certain way but media can really make a big part on how they can act. First of all how men are supposed to look just as well for women.

We as a group being all females had a strong interest in this topic because no one really pays attention to this situation and how important it actually is. We need to take action and find ways to make people see that men should not be seen as how they are seen on media. We felt that they are being portrayed in a negative concept even though to society it’s seen in a positive way. We want men to have a voice just as much as women. There are men out there who want a voice but cant advocate anything because of what society might think of them and that shouldn’t be the case.

Young boys are being exposed to situations that make them believe that it is how they should act. Boys are being bullied because of how they look and media exposes them to that.
