Recently, advances in technology have demonstrated that things that once seemed impossible to us could become a reality. Simutaneously, a new generation called Millennials is growing in influence. This generation is defined as the youngsters born between 1983 and 2000, whose characteristics are mainly having a global perspective and being open to new and daring experiences.

Millennials are growing up in an electronic and online world and are now trends consumers. The combination of these two facts is having consequences especially in the world of travel and tourism. The purpose of this essay is to find out how this generation is reshaping the tourism and hospitality industry through their use of new technologies.

No one would dispute the fact that this Generation needs to be constantly showing what they are doing, with who and where on social networks. “Millennials are always looking for likes.” Most of the experiences they live have been unconsciously planned and thought about with the aim of what impact it will cause on the net and the opinion of their followers more than what will it mean personally and emotionally in their lives. They trust other users opinions and a viral negative comment on the net can mean the loss of customers or sales to any company. This means that the sector has to be constantly be on alert.

However, it should not be forgotten that this Generation demands that technology is

more advanced and sophisticated day after day because of these youngsters demand. This is transforming all the traditional methods and means that all types of businesses like a rural hostel in the mountain or either a reservation online platform has to be constantly innovating and updating to achieve and exceed the Millennials Generation expectations and being at the cutting edge of the other competitors in the market. This Generation is very demanding and very loyal; this is why to achieve “loyalty” they need to find new and surprising experiences....
