* Even though some people’s choices come from a product of their environment growing up, domestic violence can happen to anyone it doesn’t discriminate, it can start off small and lead to bigger things if you allow it to happen because physical, verbal altercations can happen at the littlest things and men decide to do this violence against women and children as a way to preserve domination and control.

The video I decided to choose was domestic violence, and that was a personal because I have been in two relationships were domestic violence has happened. The current relationship that I am in is going on 7 years and I’d say the first 2 years was a lot of domestic violence. When my oldest son was 7 months old I became pregnant with my oldest daughter and that’s when it started getting out of hand because we lived together. I really didn’t want to be with him anymore because I didn’t want to deal with the going out every night drinking, girls, lies etc. So we got into an altercation that was over one of my old flings from the past and he was drunk and he hit me in the mouth. That was the first time he actually laid his hands on me and 2 weeks later I moved in with my mom and let my apartment go. That year was rough and probably up until 4 months of my daughter life even know I didn’t live with him was hell and one event that traumatized me still til this day even know he has changed. My daughter and I were meant to be on this earth, that is all I can say. I gave him a choice to get help or never see us again. It was a slow process but he changed and we still have our fights were we get mad and call each other names but never anything as far as domestic violence anymore. I never want my kids to ever see physical violence towards either parent, I do not want them to think it is ok to do that to their girlfriends or wives growing up or to let my daughter except that as normal. Not saying every kids that witnesses these things in turn...
