Reflecting upon past experience is an important capability for all professionals in order to develop better communications skills, conflict resolution and enhance future performance.

Initially when I was introduced to Business Research methods, I was skeptical and apprehensive as I always thought Research is a very tedious process and may not always prove to be fruitful. But then as the course progressed, I realized that research, if carried out in the right way can be very engaging and open up many new opportunities. Individual interpretations bring varied insights and are extremely beneficial to learning.

I have always been a thinker, but throughout my coursework, I have greatly sharpened my critical analysis skills. Instead of focusing on proposed meanings or biographical background, I have learned to continuously ask "why" on many different levels. I was introduced to many new things like Focus groups, how to design a questionnaire, research briefs and proposals, sampling techniques, scales (likert,nominal,ordinal,interval,ratio etc). Deeper analysis reveals the root-cause of problems which may otherwise go undetected. Learning a new tool, SPSS was by far the most exciting as it is something which greatly facilitates data analysis.

Roleplay demonstrated in class simulated real-life scenarios well.This helped in understanding how to deal with sitautions. I learnt that working towards a common goal in teams helps in scaling new heights. Initially, I felt a bit neglected as my teammates did not agree with my ideas. But then as time passed,I started to realize that they brought in a whole new dimension to the thought process, something I was unaware of. I remember while going through the MBA Program schedule, I considered BRM irrelevant as we were not into technical stuff. Now after having gone through the rigorous coursework,I know how wrong I was and can easily say that had BRM been omitted from our schedule,I would have certainly missed out on something...
