About A Boy

Marcus realised that friends are important in his life and he started to make friends. At first, he detested his classmates and did not make friends with them. He felt that his classmates were unkind and unfriendly. All they did was to make fun of him and laugh at him. They did not try to understand him and they amused themselves with him, laughing at his clothing and so on. Hence, he tends to shy away from them and he would rather be alone. He felt that he did not want to live with others as all they did was to make life miserable for him. However, after meeting Ellie, his view changed. He realised that he wanted to be with her all the time and he wanted to tell her his feelings and the things that happened to him. He was more open to others. Marcus realised that he must not be too quick to make judgment of everyone. There were people that laugh at him, but there would also be people that like him and understand him. He needed to seek out that person, instead of sitting and thinking that all his classmates were uncaring bullies and bruised himself everyday in thinking miserable thoughts when going to school.

Marcus realized that he needed a bigger family, that he needed more connections in his life. Before his mother’s attempt at committing suicide, he thought that it did not matter with just two people. It was a small family but it was cosy. However, the crisis made him realised that he needed more people in his life. Two was not enough. It was too small a number and if something happened to one of them, the other would be helpless. He himself was just a boy and his mother had a medical condition. He decided that more people were better as they could support each other and help each other out in times of crisis. Having more people would increase the chance of overcoming ordeals or crisis.
