Life is endless of learning
Going outside, seeing the world, feeling the observed things, and finally learn from the experiences is a good way to learn practically. Beyond the textbook, beyond the classroom, with our enthusiastic heart and curious mind, we went out to the temple and sea-beach to learn from the world’s school. The sections of the school were the Golphar Mohashashan Kalibari Mondir on 8th February, a Hindu temple and the Potenga, sea-beach on 9th February to observe the Hindu festival “Saraswati Puja”.
“Get up! Get up! Get u-p, Shabnam! It is already 6:30, today we have to go to the temple with our professor Se-Woong-Koo.” My friend Afroza called me and I felt very sleepy that I did not want to wake up leaving my morning’s sweet dream. Finally, I woke up and with my two friends I went to in front of the 20/A building at 7:10 a.m. At 7:20a.m. we started our walking with our professor who teaches us Asian Religion through the Art. I was so much excited because that was my first time to go to the inside of the Hindu temple to observe the “Saraaswati Puja”, but I was feeling to celebrate the festival with many Hindu people, even though I am Muslim. Entering the temple, suddenly I felt a sweet fragrance, which surrounded the temple. The fragrance was of the scented stick called “agarbati” and “dhup”, very common usage in Hindu religion. I sat on the floor at the first row in front of the beautiful statue of Hindu’s goddess “Saraswati” who is the goddess of knowledge. My knowledge about “Saraswati” was that much before introducing with a small girl Prionti in the temple. Prionti,a little girl about 9-10 years old, sat beside me with her mother. “You know, we call “Saraswati” our mother who gives us knowledge in this day if we worship her from the deepest corner of our heart,” Prionti told me very gently that seemed...
