Statistics is for the most part used either to make calculations based on the data available or to make conclusions about a population of interest when only limited data is obtainable. In both cases statistics tries to make sense of the improbability in the available data. When making predictions statistics determine if the difference in the data points is by chance or if there is a methodical connection. The more methodical the connection is observed to be then the better the predictions can be made. The more random it is then the uncertainty of the prediction is higher.
The information below is related to the topic of wage earners salaries and answers the question of, “Who gets paid more?” Is it those with four years or more of education and experience, or those with four years or less of education and experience? Using the data collected, the central tendencies of the data was examined. The measures of the central tendency and dispersion were calculated and shown using graphic techniques.
Information is given regarding the purpose of the research as far as what it will determined. The problem definition is stated along with the research hypothesis that was developed showing who might be the higher wage earner. Data was collected and analyzed using descriptive statistics that show examples of those wages and how they were paid to those with education and those without education. A conclusion was also made from the data collected answering the question of who gets paid more.
Purpose of the Research
This research is going to determine whether or not education can earn a higher wage than those that only have experience on their resume. In the 20th century a high school diploma was not a necessity let alone a college degree for a high paying job. As long as one had the experience, or was able to exhibit the capability of learning the necessary skills...
