Each person is different; therefore we cannot be certain what an exact percentage would be contributed if any. For example, three children (2 boys and a girl) are born to a two parent loving well to do home. Both parents are degreed, and employed in elevated white collar professional jobs. The oldest child is the daughter and she turns out to be a career oriented woman who is married to her job, has no children, but ensures she stays at the top of career field, with the highest level of education available. She is always being told that she is the spitting’ image of her Mom, but has the attitude of her father. The middle child turns out to be a drunk, constantly starting career, but never quite finds the perfect match because he is constantly finding trouble, and being bailed out by his parents, on and off in his adult life. The mother cannot help herself by rushing to his side, because she cannot get over looking into his face and seeing her husband in his younger days. The youngest son never went to a four year college, but instead received a vocational training skill, and now works as a professional man, happily married with two kids, and a dog is known as “the reliable one”. Here there are obviously some genetic ties with looks and accomplishments, but also some outside influences the shaped how their children turned out.
I believe it is important to separate the two because genetics is something that you can do nothing about when it comes to your looks, or gender. However, experience on the other hand is something that you control such as where you go, who socialize with, and the type of entertainment you expose yourself to and the level of influence you let it have on your life. This could bring about different life styles, and sexual orientations, along with the overall outlook on life, which is very apparent in the above example.
