Drilling for oil on our soil would benefit the economy. I believe that if we had our own supply of oil the other countries would lower the price of it and we could get it cheaper. This would give us more money rather than spending it on foreign oil. This would also create more jobs for Americans. Drilling could also lead to other discoveries that have not yet been found. As far as the drilling goes I think that we should do it. We need to have a supply if something happens and then we don’t have it. I think that it would be in the best interest of the country. Having our own oil supply would allow the US to regulate it and the money would be spent here in the US. This would make the economy stronger by keeping jobs and money in the country. I am sure there is a negative side to drilling. Some of those would be people would lose some land to the government so the drilling could take place. There could also have the issue of oil spilling into lakes and streams. I feel that with the BP oils mishap that they would take more safety steps to prevent it from happening. “’ In an oil drilling field offshore in California, the oil production resulted in a benefit to both the atmosphere and the aquatic environment. This was because the oil drilling caused a reduction in subsurface reservoir pressure, which resulted in a decrease in the hydrocarbon seepage rate. Scientists are hypothesizing that if the Californian oil field is representative of the world oil fields, then it could result in reductions worldwide.’”

Making the US stronger and not having to rely on other countries for oil could cut down on the price we do pay for oil when we buy it from other countries. I think that we need to keep as much of the US money in the US will let our country become stronger. “As someone...
