Executive Summary

The California Pizza Kitchen Inc. is a restaurant that serves a variety of pizzas with toppings from around the world as well as salads, soups, pastas and sandwiches with distinctive tastes. They are accomplishing this goal without having a distinctive mission/vision statement that conveys their values and beliefs and how they see their organization in the future. The core values and beliefs of California Pizza Kitchen Inc. are not apparent within their mission/vision statement. The recommendation is to create a more distinctive mission/vision statement that reflects the values and beliefs of the leadership and the employees. This vision of the company should not be a goal that they can achieve but a vision of how they see the organization in the future. In order for the organization to find their values they need to look deep within their selves and create values that are congruent with the leadership and employees of the organization. This will make a statement of what the organization is and what they are.

Introduction

The California Pizza Kitchen Inc. is a restaurant that serves a variety of pizzas with toppings from around the world as well as salads, soups, pastas and sandwiches with distinctive tastes. For 26 years California Pizza Kitchen Inc. has expanded their organization to 32 States and nine foreign countries to reach more customers and increase market share. With over 252 locations California Pizza Kitchen Inc. is working towards a goal to reach more customers around the world and to gain more market share. They are trying to accomplish this goal without having a distinctive mission or vision statement that conveys their core values and beliefs and the future of the organization.
