Diversity training is the process by which a workforce is educated about cultural, socio-economic, racial, and religious differences among employees and taught how to embrace those differences so as to create and maintain an effective working environment (Westfield &Stahlhut,1999). As we know, diversity within organizations has become an important issue in the management as it helps to encounter the challenges in a globalized world. Many creative ideas and information can be gained from various backgrounds of employees and then be used for new inventions, distribute it and gain advantage in attracting numerous consumers. However, this might seem good to be true because it actually needs lots of efforts to ensure that everything is in a proper way and employees are discipline accordingly and understand fully about organizations and their operations. Therefore many organizations are now implementing a diversity training program to help employees in and out, build confidence to approach and fit in a different place, communicate and understand better among each other to avoid any sensitive issue like racism, discrimination, and to educate employees about the needing of diversity. But does the diversity training exist really work effectively? Some might success and some might lead to a failure. What are the true criteria that needed to ensure the effectiveness of the training programs? To answer this question, first of all we need to know the existing training program and understand the factors of its failure to help create better training programs.

One of the factors to need to consider when designing an effective diversity training programs is to obtain enthusiastic support and commitment from the top-level within an organization, which must clearly enunciate the importance of diversity as a business value and goal and implement key strategies to support diversity initiatives to improve the effectiveness of a diversity-training program.
