Professional knowledge and abilities skills can have a major impact in an individual’s career. This has an impact because it enhances their knowledge in different fields of professionalism. All professionals seek success in their careers, but there are a large amount of different factors that can contribute to achieving career success.

The organization that I picked to write about is the American Public Health Association. This organizations main task is to protect Americans from health threats, preventable diseases, and to make sure the community is healthy through promotion and prevention actives. I choose this organization, not because I am in the health field, but most of the people I associate with are in a health profession. This organization can help them by discovering new and enhanced public health services. Experience in this knowledge would help health professionals improve medical practices and will ensure the general health of the community.

Even though I am not in the health profession this organization can still help me with my career success in many ways. First, this knowledge can teach the desire to succeed, which a person must have toward life to build a strong work foundation. Knowledge is important because it helps an individual to develop strong problem solving skills. This career success is also enhanced through acquiring additional qualifications like a university degree. Those qualifications will help individuals’ secure high positions in their career, and can be very limited and hard to achieve without them. Along with professional knowledge, general knowledge is also important in developing careers and abilities so the individual can communicate with non-technical people to obtain their different views.
