Biography of Macbeth

When Macbeth was a young boy he lived a simple life, he helped with the chores around the house, and did other helpful things. He watched in awe as his father, a general in Duncan’s army, come home yet again victorious in one of his many conquests.

As he got older he too joined in the fighting and participated in many battles. His significant contributions to those battles won him the favor of King Duncan. He soon learned that being in the King’s favor was greatly to his advantage. He became the thane of Duncan and a general in his army.

His best and truest friend Banquo also earned the King’s favor and the title of thane of Duncan. Macbeth and Banquo served in the army side by side since they joined. They were there for each other through defeat and victory. Their fondness of one another only grew stronger as the years passed. Macbeth and Banquo became like brothers, and was only fitting that they should earn the same title, thane of Duncan.

After a few years of fighting in the army Macbeth met the woman, who, unknown to him, would become his wife. She was a superb example of the female specimen. Her beauty exuded like the sunlight on a cloudless day. Her skin was of the palest white, and was as soft as a rose petal. Macbeth was awestruck upon meeting her; she seemed too good to be true. She, however, had also taken a liking to him. After three years of courting they were finally bound in wedlock.

After one particular victorious battle Macbeth and Banquo started off on a journey. On their journey they met three strange women, who appeared to be brewing some sort of potion. Macbeth, being the gentleman that he is tried to start a conversation with them, when suddenly they outburst, “thane of Cawdor, thane of Cawdor.” Macbeth was obviously confused because the thane of Cawdor was alive. The three strange women told Macbeth that he is indeed the thane of Cawdor and will one day become the King of Scotland, to then be succeeded by Banquo’s...
