There are five article I stands out. In connelly’s article she interprets the central scene of the Parthenon frieze as an image of sacrifice rather than as the panthenaic process. In Neil’s “The Parthenon Frieze”, she interapte the friezes of Parthenon is a celebration of Athena’s victory in the war between “land and sea”. In the Root’s article, She gives the interpretation is that Parthenon frieze is an imminent procession, the similar parts is mimicked Persian Apadana reiefs, which is an imperial vision. And In Neil’s another article The Parthenon: From Antiquity to the Present: chapter7. She stands out Parthenon’s pediments and akroteria has iconological explanation as Athena, Poseidon even the story in Athens. In Jeffrey’s article, she presents a lot of evidences to explain there are some connections with the Parthenon and the Temple of Zeus. Most of ideas in Parthenon are from the Temple of Zeus.

In Connelly’s article, she interprets the central scene of the Parthenon frieze as an image of sacrifice rather than as the panthenaic process, she bases her thesis on several elements: 1. Significant objects mentioned in the procession are missing from the depiction.2. Imagery on Greek temples is always mythological and the panathenaic tradition involved regular Athenians. 3. The symbolism of the sacrifice is an important early norm. This links the subject of the frieze to the significance of the Parthenon.

Connelly she support and offers a clean interpretation and critiqur of others scholars. There are lot weaknesses. If Parthenon is a whole temple and built at same time, there are no reasons that can be separated by many different topics in each part.
