Founded in 1934 by Tadao Yoshida, YKK Corporation began as a slide fastener trading company called San-S Shokai. YKK itself stands for Yoshida Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha. YKK now operates in more than 132 affiliated companies in more than 68 countries, representing 672 plants and offices, and expands it business into new fields. YKK established its first Bangladesh overseas plant in 2000 named YKK Bangladesh Pvt. Ltd, in Dhaka Export Processing Zone.
