Dreams: Depriving Reality, to Engage in Absolute Mental Subconsciousness. Throughout time, humans have constantly tried to decipher the purpose of dreams. Some believe that they convey predictions of the impending future, while others believe they open the gateway into a paranormal world. To Hannah, however, dreams presented no purpose. According to her, they were merely an escape from reality.

It was a pleasant summer afternoon. Hannah and her parents decided to walk to the neighbourhood playground. The atmosphere was clear and peaceful on this warm morning in July. Eager to spend time at the playground, Hannah grasped her parent’s hands, hastily urging them to follow her.

“Come on, hurry up! I want to get there before the swings are all taken!” yelled Hannah.

“Slow down Hannah, the swings aren’t going anywhere!” assured her mother.

When the family arrived, Hannah impatiently dashed towards the swings. However, despite her enthusiasm, her mind was not set on swinging back and forth on the swings. Instead, she sat upon a vacant swing, and began to talk. There was no one around her. She was talking to her imaginary friend. Her parents found it strange seeing all the other kids playing while Hannah just sat there, talking to herself. They believed that she was doing so because she was afraid to make friends.

“Hannah, who are you talking to?” questioned her mother.

“I’m talking to…no one”, replied Hannah, trying not to reveal her friendship with her imaginary friend.

“Hannah…don’t be afraid to play with the other kids. You should try to make friends with them”, proposed her mother.

“I agree with your mother. You should be active and having fun”, her father remarked, then sternly stated, “Remember Hannah: An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.”

After hearing this, Hannah became speechless. Her concentration was focused entirely on her father’s words.

“Hannah? Are you listening? Hannah? Hannah?” exclaimed her mother.

Suddenly her voice began to echo...
