Kamikaze was a Japanese suicide bomber. Kamikaze a japanese word, also known as the "divine wind" goes back to a legend that is believed that had saved Japan.From being invaded by a fleet of Mongols in 1281 AD. During World War II the word kamikaze was used to refer to the suicide attacks made only by the Japanese soilders. World War II Kamikaze attacks official japanese name was (special attack unit) tokubetsu kogeki tai, and was most of the time cut down to tokkotai. The Japanese Navy called its suicide squadrent " shinpu tokubetsu kogeki tai ". Kamikaze came to be from the word shinpu.

The American Navy became verry terrified and also familiar with the attacks of Japanese kamikazes.Some became so terified that even after shooting down a suicide plane they would continue shooting at a plane untill it would hit the ground. The Japanese had many different ways of commiting suicide, from putting explosives in thier aircraft,to having other Japanese soldiers detonated there explosives, they also commited suicide in their midget submarines, as human-guided torpedoes.

Commander Tamai Asaiki put together a group of 23 Japanese pilot students and a lieutenant with much experience in no time none were forced to join.All willingly volunteered.
