course you should be able to:
Chapter 1
1. State the amplitude and frequency range for physiological paramenters.
2. Calculate the mean, median, standard deviation, Poisson Probability, sample size to give a
desired confidence.
3. Calculate the confidence interval given a sample mean and standard deviation.
4. Distinguish between accuracy, precision, and resolution.
5. Understand the terms digital, continuous, discrete and analog
6. Draw a flow chart or a box diagram of a simple system
7. Describe the scientific method and its analog in clinical medicine.
8. Utilize hypothesis testing
Chapter 2
1. Calculate resistances and impedances in series and parallel
2. Design a voltage divider circuit
3. Be able to apply KCL and KVL to analyze simple circuits
4. Sketch a signal (sine wave, etc.) in both the time domain and the frequency domain
