How to Dual Boot Windows XP and Fedora or Red Hat Linux

Step1: you have to use two separate hard drives; one drive for Linux, and one drive for Windows. Step2: Installing Fedora. 1. Put CD 1 back in the drive and reboot the computer. 2. At the boot: line, you should press Enter.
3. You'll then see some text appeared on the screen.
4. A screen appears that allows you to check the CD's for errors, or skip and proceed with the install.
5. If all went well, a nice graphical installer screen should have come up welcoming you to the Fedora Core. Click Next.
6. You're first choice is to select the language used during the install process. Chose English and click next.
7. Next we get to select the appropriate keyboard type for the system. If you don't know what keyboard type you have, select U.S. English and click next.
8. Now, the system should be able to recognize the type of your mouse (the correct option should be highlighted on the screen).
9. The third thing we get to configure is the monitor. Just like the mouse and keyboard if the system was able to recognize your monitor successfully, it'll be selected. Otherwise you'll need to select your monitor from the long list of models.
1. LCD: choose this option if you use a laptop. 2. CRT: choose this option if you use a desktop. 3. 1024*768: this option is the best monitor resolution.
10. Now that the keyboard, mouse, and monitor have been configured, we are asked what type of install we want to do. The options are: - Personal Desktop - Workstation - Server - Custom So, we are just going to select Personal Desktop and click next.
11. Now, be careful with this step. Any mistake may lead to loose windows. When this menu appears choose manually partitioning.
12. when this menu appears; do the following steps according to the numbering on the pictures: 1. Choose the free space. 2. Click on Edit button. 3. Click on Next button.
