Introduction

American underwent many changes some were beneficial to society and some were unfair. When changes are made for the better of the people it is an up lifting movement, to educated, learn farming trades, vote, and build a more civilized society was a big transition in America. However these transitions were not so easily adjusted they came about through laws, bills and by forming political parties. A growth and expansion was implemented in the new world to help the people become more self sufficient and to establish financial stability. Colonies were developing and the more knowledge the people gained through different experiences the more there was to be taught to others. America became a country of STRENGTH, a country that others migrated to in order to live prosperous lives. If such changes were never made, where would we be now? What will are children look forward to? The transformation in America is seen in everyday living, It became the land of OPPORTUNITY, LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.

The United States of America began as an agricultural union. Early colonists farmed and learned harvesting techniques from the Native Americans. Agriculture was the staple of American sustainability and survival. Capitalism, meaning “an economic system set up by private ownership of goods based on the buying and selling determined by the free market competition (Merriam-Webster, 2010)” influenced colonial planters to harvest tobacco. Tobacco plantations became a source of revenue (considered “cash crops”) for the American plantation owners because of the great demand for the export (Virginia Places, 2011.)
