Tom’s Shoes:

Tom shoes Footwear Company is based in Santa Monica, California. It’s a unique shoe company which promotes the “ONE FOR ONE” program. For every pair of shoe purchased, Toms Shoes donates a pair of shoes to a child without.

The idea was created by Blake Mycoskie who in based Los Angeles, California and launched the company during March 2006. He took a trip to Argentina where he saw firsthand children roaming the streets shoeless or seeing people searching for shoes to hand out to families in need, but using old shoes some missing laces and some almost completely damaged. Mycoskie seeing the situation he decided to embark on a new business venture in the United States, selling a type of shoe that would help others in need. He noticed a certain type of shoe on the player’s feet that is known as “Alpargata” which is the main design of all Tom’s Shoes today.

For every pair of shoes he sells, he will give a pair away to a child in need. Mycoskie started off Tom’s Shoes (Shoes of Tomorrow Project). He started off with around 250 pairs of shoes a year. It is a For-Profit Company which means provides a good service to consumers. He’s an entrepreneur making a difference in the world without being selfish or greedy with money. Mycoskie had said the customers know when they buy a pair of shoes; they are directly helping a child in need. Customers are able to see where their money is going, which most people don’t see after purchasing an item. Tom Shoes Company is able to make connection with their customers because of the business model and also how it works. When shoes are delivered, Mycokie and his team personally place each pair of shoes on someone’s feet, which also apply to the business model because of the physical component of Mycokie placing the shoe on a foot. He isn’t having another team people give shoes to the community.
