Problem Solutions: Classic Airlines

Classic Airlines is the world’s fifth largest airline company, with a fleet of more than 375 jets that serves 240 cities worldwide with more than 2,300 daily flights. Classic Airlines maybe one of the largest airlines in the world, but it is going through a rocky period due to high fuel and labor cost, decrease in share prices, decrease in customer loyalty and decrease in employee morale (University of Phoenix, n.d). The executive team is facing the challenge on how to enhance the marketing strategy at a low-cost in order to increase customer loyalty, and of course increase sales and market shares. Classic Airlines’ executive team got much work cut up for them, from finding the issues and opportunities within the organization, determine a possible problem solution, come up with alternative solutions by researching other companies best practices, establish an implementation plan, and finally have an evaluation plan in place to ensue the effectiveness of the problem solution.

Knowing the importance of marketing is crucial for the organization, also realizing that the world is changing every day and needs to keep up wit the technological changes. Customers and employees are the backbone of the organizations that requires special handling in order to keep the organization afloat and competitive in the airline industry.

The executive team needs to know the importance of marketing, if they want the organization to thrive in the industry, because “marketing deals with identifying and meeting and social need [because] meeting needs profitability” (Keller & Kotler, 2006, ch. 1). Without a proper marketing strategy Classic Airlines will not be able to attract customer, which is why they need to know what the customer wants and needs and make it deliverable.
