Synergetic Solutions Inc. is a company in the business of system integration. Most of our employees are in the sales and service departments. As you may know the company has expanded into a network solutions business of designing and implementing complex computing networks. As of now the network solutions business accounts for 20% of the total revenues of the company. Harold Redd, our Chief Executive Officer, has made an strategic decision. He is wanting to raise the network solutions business revenues to 80% of total sales. For this to happen changes are going to take place. We what to take a look at what forces of change may take place. Along with the forces of change we will view what factors a leader in this organization need to weigh to implement a change strategy successfully. We will describe two change models a leader may employ and evaluate the communication necessary to implement change using these models. We will also cover what kind of resistance might a leader expect to see in or organization. We will identify five kinds of resistance and what strategies may one employ to manage each of these areas of resistance.

One of the first forces of change Synergetic Solutions Inc. will face is technology. As of right now most of our employees are in sales and service departments. Because of this our employees possess only the basic computer assembling and troubleshooting skills. Therefore the nature of the workforce is to improve our employees' skill sets. There will be competition as new employment options open up and we will need to hire employees with relevant skills.

There are many factors a leader needs to weigh to implement a change strategy successfully. One of these is where to focus resources: reinforce team-based structures, Improve work flow, improve operational efficiencies, or improve organizational effectiveness and employ well being.
