LED, LCD, CRT monitors

Sec11_TRU_2-2:50

LCD

Liquid-crystal display televisions (LCD) use LCD technology to produce images. Although not as versatile as CRTs, LCDs are being seen as the preferred display for an increasing number of applications. They can produce very bright and sharp images but can also be harder to properly set up than CRTs.

Advantages and disadvantages:

1-Advantages:

1. Sharpness 2. Geometric Distortion 3. Brightness 4. Screen Shape5. Physical

2- Disadvantages:

1- Resolution 2-cost 3-viewing angle 4-interferance 5-Color and Gray-Scale Accuracy 6-Aspect Ratio 7-White saturation

CRT

Cathode Ray Tube or CRT is the old style picture tube which is long , most people are switching to the Liquid Crystal Diode or LCD which is used in the flat screen TVs which is much thinner and some can even be hug on a wall like a picture. The Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) is a vacuum tube containing an electron gun (a source of electrons) and a fluorescent screen, with internal or external means to accelerate and deflect the electron beam, used to create images in the form of light emitted from the fluorescent screen.

Advantages:

1. Resolution and Aspect Ratio 2. Highest Resolutions 3. Black-Level and Contrast 4. Color and Gray-Scale Accuracy 5. Motion Artifacts 6. Cost

Disadvantages:

1. Sharpness 2. Interference 3. Geometric Distortion 4. Brightness 5. Screen Shape 6. Emissions 7. Physical

LED

LED stands for Light-Emitting Diodes and is a type of low emission lighting. A LED panel is a small display, or a component of a larger display. They are typically used outdoors in store signs and billboards, and in recent years have also became commonly used in destination signs on public transport vehicles. LED panels are sometimes used as form of lighting, for the purpose of general illumination, task lighting, or even stage lighting rather than display.

Advantages include:

1-A very low energy consumption...
