Abstract

This thesis work is done under Department of Development Studies, University of Dhaka as a degree pre requisite for the Master of development Studies Degree. Ms. Rounak Jahan , Assistant Professor had been the kind supervisor for this thesis work.

Considering different aspects of Education and Unemployment this research will try to come up with an evaluation of different Education Policies in Bangladesh, and there by further have impact on the dynamics of linkages between the higher education sector and the labor market for qualified people. With a large system of higher education, a vast pool of qualified manpower and an employment structure with small organized sector Bangladesh’s experience in this regard would provide valuable insights for developing countries. This paper analyses the linkages between Education policy and Unemployment of Bangladesh in the context of recent developments. In fact through the recommendation it could be bring a help to the Bangladesh in making an education policy targeting the plan for better alignment of growth in higher education with changing labor market conditions in the country.

Objectives of this research will be on:

• Listing all the available education policies and their practices in Bangladesh

• Finding out how effectively these policies are being able to contribute to the ongoing battle against unemployment.

• To provide a brief idea about Education policy of Bangladesh and Employment opportunity.

• To analyze the relation between the unemployment of educated youth and education policy of Bangladesh

This thesis work also attempted to track the link of Education and Unemployed Youth and explore new knowledge economy for Bangladesh.
