Euro Disney was officially opened in Marne-la-Vallee, twenty miles outside of Paris, on April 12, 1992. This venture was owned by a private investors and Walt Disney Corporation. Learning from the previous experience, where Disney failed to control the hotel operation, this time, Euro Disney make sure that they took control of all hotel operation of the entire park operations. They want to make moneys within them self; they don’t want to share profits with an outside company. Good. Also, Disney doesn’t want to share success with outside companies, they want to have their own identity, they are who they are, and no others can step a foot into Disney.

The purpose of developing themed Resort is to created more attraction for the visitor and make them feel satisfies satisfied with the expensive admissions fees are worth it. The most important aspects are that the company wants to attract more people to come to the park, so they can make more profits. Good, but only the park?

Euro Disney Resort employs about 5,700 managerial and service personnel during its normal operational season, majority of them are French, the rest are other nationalities. A dormitory was built to accommodate about 3,500 employees. People that works for Euro Disney Resort are very diverse, there are about 600 managers representing thirty-six different countries, twenty-four different languages are spoken by Resort managers and staffs. The upper level of managerial personnel faces a stiff challenge on managing due to the diverse diversity of the staffs.

During the initial few years, business at Euro Disney Resort did not achieve projected sales and revenues. Occupancy was at its rock bottom, low as 55percent in 1993. The management of Euro Disney at one time even wants to sell the Resort in order to reduce the lost revenue; it lost $366 million in sales in the 1994 fiscal year. Good.
