I. Human resource professionals can ensure that top organizational leaders encourage managers and employees to follow laws and guidelines by the follow means:

A. HR professionals can do this by focusing on the responsibility for legal compliance and the importance for all employees to abide by all federal laws

B. HR professionals can do this by providing semi-annual training to ensure that all employees understand the consequences when 1) training is not completed and 2) laws are not followed.

C. HR professionals can do this by ensuring that laws such as Title VII of the Civil Rights act are respected and followed by all employees; the Executive Order 11246 is within compliance pertaining to affirmative action plans; and HR to provide training pertaining to the Occupational Safety and Health Act to ensure legal compliance.

II. Hiring women and minorities has improved Xerox’s profitability for the following reasons:

D. The first reason profitability improved is acknowledging that by not utilizing the complete pool of talent, by discrimination, could only hurt a company’s profits.

E. The second reason profitability improved is by developing outreach and recruitment plans to find new staff members who have a wide variety of skills and experience to support organizational functions and goals especially with Xerox being awarded government contracts.

F. The third reason profitability improved is the fact that many talented professionals of the protected class viewed Xerox as an organization that understands there are different issues of interest within this working protected class such as,...
