Technical analysis on securities

INTRODUCTION:

Technical analysis is used to analyze securities and make investment decisions Technical analysis takes a completely different approach; it doesn't care one bit about the "value" of a company or a commodity. Technicians (sometimes called chartists) are only interested in the price movements in the market.

Technical analysis really just studies supply and demand in a market in an attempt to determine what direction, or trend, will continue in the future. In other words, technical analysis attempts to understand the emotions in the market by studying the market itself, as opposed to its components. If you understand the benefits and limitations of technical analysis, it can give you a new set of tools or skills that will enable you to be a better trader or investor.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:

Construction of portfolio is not a easy task. It requires a wide study. The goal of portfolio construction is to generate a portfolio that provides the highest returns at a given level of risk. A portfolio having this characteristic is known as efficient portfolio.

Technical analysis provides the investor with a set of worthwhile or desirable securities.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY

The main object of the study is:

1. To study the behaviour of stock prices of selected software companies for the last 6 months.

2. To predict the future stock price movements based on technical analysis.

3. To identify the trend reversal for the selected software company securities and suggest better investment strategy.

4. Study of market indices and prices.

5. To forecast indicates the probability of happening in the future.

6. To Forecasting in respect of CAPM assists in decision making during uncertainties.

7. To provide basis for determination of future policy.
