1. What are the primary roles of media delivering news to the public?

Primary roles of media delivery are to gather information based on responsible investigative journalism; making narrative reports on unusual happenings and important events in everyday life. The media functions are to inform, teach, entertain, and persuade. News media keeps people informed on current news; it played a major role in the presidential campaign in 2008. News media introduced the candidates, kept people informed on candidate speeches and interviews. People could determine who they supported because of the massive information the media provided.

2. What is the significance of immediate news media delivery on culture?

Immediate news delivery has a large significance on our culture because it enables people to make intellectual decisions. News delivery has impacted our culture through technology; information has become available faster through online sites like Google News, Yahoo News, and CNN. Our culture has become more knowledgeable about current events happening in or country also in countries around the world. For instance, on a site called Twitter, people can to receive minute-by-minute updates on anything and have used Twitter to schedule protests.

3. What are the social responsibilities of news media?

Responsibilities of the media are to report the events or issues that occurred during the day. The news determines moral response of situations through critical reasoning. They must have accurate information from all sources, never distort the content and never plagiarize. The news media should avoid stereotyping age, race, gender, and religion. They should show compassion for people who are affected by tragedies or grief. They should be accountable and admit mistakes and correct them promptly.
