Brain stimulation Alcohol has been part of our lives for thousands of years. Alcohol is used for social gatherings, celebrating special events, and to us help relax. There is also a dark side to alcohol which involves drunkenness and health problems. These problems have been present since man began to consume alcohol. “If one includes deaths as a result of driving under the influence, alcohol is responsible for more deaths and violence than all other drugs combined. The topic of whether or not to ban alcohol use has strong supporters on both sides because of the effects it causes to our minds and behavior. Many programs have been created to help those who are struggling to control their addiction to alcohol. Science is also trying to find a better way of helping them also by learning more about how alcohol affects the mind and how to reverse the damage done.
